Phoenix Rising - Philippa Ballantine, Tee Morris This was a reasonably decent addition to the list of steampunk books I've read. It isn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad either.

I enjoyed the two main characters & their development as characters was probably my favorite part of the book. Things I didn't like were the shifting viewpoints (some points/people/events got much less coverage, though their chapters showed up every once in awhile) & a few over-the-top scenes (a couple of gruesome things, plus an orgy). Meh. I think the book was strong enough without the 'shock value' items.

Still, it was fairly fun &, as I mentioned, I enjoyed the characters.
